Every student wants to be involved when it comes to technology. My students having access to 1:1 devices will allow them to participate in internet activities in their general education classroom. Currently, we do not have enough resources for my students to have 1:1 devices. I am requesting tablets for my students. When they are in their general education class and it’s computer time, they do not get to participate. Students will be able to use educational apps and websites to help increase their academic abilities. The best part about a tablet is the touchscreen. My students work better with a touchscreen rather than having to use a mouse. Not only will they have access to the internet, but there are also apps they can download to put their individual schedule on. Routine is key when it comes to teaching in an autism classroom and with my students transitioning out of the special education classroom more the schedule app would really come in handy (fewer things for them to carry).
