I am a 5th grade teacher at a Title 1 school. I have been teaching for 16 years. Up until moving to Arizona in 1999, I volunteered at my elementary school during my free time. I began volunteering the summer I promoted to the seventh grade so I have been helping teachers and students in one form or another since 1991. Like with most elementary school teachers, I teach all subjects with the exception of PE and computers. My teaching style tends to lean towards the use of technology, since the other teachers say I am good with computers and websites, even though I myself think I am but a novice at technology. I have learned that my students enjoy doing research projects on historical figures, so I tend to allow my students to work on research projects in their free time. I hope to integrate the research projects to be cross curriculum so the students can be immersed more in what they are learning about.
