We are a hands-on world so our students need hands-on learning experiences! I use LEGO bricks in everything from reading and writing to science. The classic creative set will provide opportunities for students to retell stories, create stories of their own, recreate scenes from history, and more! The Simple Machines Set would be perfect for my students as part of our third grade curriculum is learning about simple and compound machines. These concepts are easily identifiable in our everyday world, but students often have a hard time understanding the actual mechanics of how simple machines make work easier. This would allow them to make their own in a concrete way beyond the paper models I usually rely on.
