My students are wonderful 8th graders who are inquisitive and eager to investigate the world of science. I teach physical science, so my students learn about chemistry, physics, astronomy, and the scientific method. Many of my students are English Learners, so it is extremely important to provide rich learning experiences with many visuals and opportunities for them to use manipulatives and color. There is also a very high poverty rate at my school and district funding for classroom supplies has been dramatically decreased because of budget cuts; therefore, any supplies we can get would be greatly appreciated.
