Flexible seating within the classroom encourages students to learn in a comfortable environment. Besides being comfortable, students are often more attentive and less disruptive when they have a choice where their learning takes place. Whether it is cozying up with a book, sitting with a small group of peers to discuss learning, or meeting for instruction as a class, this rug will allow students variety in the classroom. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk. This carpet has squared off areas so that all students maintain their own personal space when sitting as a class for instruction.
