My elementary students are a bright and inquisitive group. I always have to stay on my toes to find new ways to challenge them. They love to play instruments and get really excited when they come in my room and instruments are out. Drums are a particular favorite, but with limited storage space, it is difficult to store them and move them to the room we use for music.
I would like to have a bucket drum ensemble to encourage the students creativity with rhythm and timbres. This would allow all of the students to participate at once without having to move and store all of the heavy equipment. Music has the ability to reach us where words can not. All students at our school would be able to participate in our bucket band. It is a way to bridge all of our differences and work together on a common project in a fun and unique way. By supporting the bucket band project you will be helping to provide buckets of varying sizes and literature for our new adventure.
Participation in this ensemble will help all kinds of learners work together as we foster our creativity in a concrete way.
