My school has various “magnets” in which students are able to explore and develop their talents. This year we added an advertising magnet. In this magnet, students will be learning the history of advertising, advertising techniques, how to create advertisements, the role advertising plays in our society, how advertising reflects our current society and its contributes to development. To assist students in their understanding, I am asking for a class set of Made You Look: How Advertising Works and Why You Should Know by Shari Graydon. This resource will support my curriculum and spans the beginnings of advertising to the 21st century. It includes real-life examples, thought proving questions, and engaging illustrations. It is my intention to use this resource throughout their middle school career in Advertising.
