Our school district is geographically very large, but our class sizes are very small. Our students, regardless of class size, deserve the same opportunities in their learning and extracurricular activities. We just started our esports club this year to give the students the chance to compete for our school in a more inclusive environment than traditional sports. "I have found my people" is the common trend in our group; students are creating friendships with peers they never would have without esports. I have watched their confidence blossom, and their positive mental health recharge from esports. We've earned first-place awards, and learned how to lose with dignity. Academically, this club is the only reason to come to school for some of them, and participation requires good grades. These students deserve so much for their program.
