My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Many come from low income families, where generational poverty is, unfortunately, the norm. My students deserve to have the same opportunities as other kids around our community. My students deserve the world. My incoming groups of students, all 150 of them will be the first 6th graders in a middle school setting. This will be a difficult transition for younger kids. Transitions between classes, having six different teachers to get to know, as well as meeting many new faces will take a role them. I will be the teacher that they can all depend on and someone who always has their best interest in mind. Despite the hardships, I looked forward my students coming to school with smiles on their faces, questions to ask and eagerly participating in the learning.
