Since our school does not offer art electives, this club allows those who are crafty and artistically inclined to improve their skills while learning new ones. Students will be learning about and creating self-portraits through paint. They will also create their perfect pet using clay based on what they feel it means to be a good friend. Students will learn how to use a drill, electric screwdriver, hammer and stain wood while creating bird houses or shelves. They will also learn how to knit to create hats and scarves. Each project is meant to work on their social emotional skills and life/ career skills through the medium of art and crafts. Other projects include jewelry making, pumpkin carving, ornament creation, tie-dying or screen-printing shirts, sewing, and learning to draw. Each project will be individualized based on student interest and will be led by experienced practitioners.
