During the school year the students plan and create two productions. In each production, the students are trained on both the light and sound board. However, the technology available in the theater is outdated and often subject to glitches that cause errors during the show. By allowing my students to have access to a Macbook Air they will be able to utilize several different IOS compatible software programs such as QLab and Orchextra to enhance the audience's experience for both our Fall and Spring productions. The laptop will allow students to control and operate both light and sound effects efficiently and quickly during the show. The technology will allow for updated systems that adhere to what is used in the entertainment industry. Many students go on to work in theater outside of high school, and it is vital to give them the experience they need to thrive in the world beyond high school.
