"I can't wait to go to college at Cal Berkeley!" is something quite common to hear my students say. I'm privileged to teach kids who give me hope and joy daily. I ensure to make every minute of each day of academic and character instruction count. I understand the urgency of closing the achievement gap and feel this urgency daily. I understand the privilege I have to be with these incredible children every day. Our Title I school has 100% of students who receive free or reduced lunch. Despite the hardships that some of my students have faced in their 7 or 8 years of life, our classroom is a place where these students can be affirmed, safe, and excited about learning each day. We work hard to foster a community of learners in our classroom where we can find the joy of learning, find strengths in our community, and find ways to be happy kids!
