During the 2018-2019 school year I will be working as a Master Teacher with 2nd grade students. My school is located in a low income urban area, and more than 90% of students are in the free lunch program. The school is in the process of becoming an International Baccalaureate (I.B.) World School. I will be working purposefully to meet the needs of all students by providing specialized instruction to meet individual needs, and implement I.B. lessons, and specialized instruction. The students will have longer days and attend a summer program to prevent regression and provide additional time for instruction. My goal for my students is to help them identify skills they need to work on, strengths, and provide hands on, fun, and inquiry instruction based on student learning styles. I like to celebrate success as well as provide students with enough support to create engaged lifelong learners.
