As a school we are working to building a culture of coding and programming as we step into the future. I want to create a space that will allow our students to be free to experience things on a different level. Hands on learning is a must but it is difficult without different materials to manipulate and learn through. I would like to build a space where our students can understand and EXPERIENCE how things work beneath the surface. I would love to use Bee-Bots alongside different coding programs to teach multi-step and directional thinking to build the skills needed to learn to code. I believe that coding is going to be an underlying skill for many jobs, not just ones in the computer department in the future and I want my students to be able to compete for these jobs! I want my students to feel empowered and be able to use these skills as a way to see that they can shape not only their futures but maybe someday the future for others as well.
