Students are growing up in a tech savvy world. Literacy and Math skills will be bolstered by the use of these Acer tablets in everyday learning centers. In my district, each grade level adds more technology usage. Teaching Kindergarten and incorporating technology can be a challenge. Fine motor skills are still developing, making using laptops and mice difficult. My students often become frustrated that they cannot navigate the mouse on the laptop screen, or effectively use the mouse-pad. This results in students either giving up or losing precious learning time by trying to manipulate the mouse. Touch screen tablets would avoid all of the frustration my students feel and increase engagement, by allowing them to simply touch the screen to practice skills and answer questions. With these tablets, my students will be able to practice literacy and math skills in a fun, relevant, and developmentally appropriate way!
