These are sixth grade students who reside in a low-socioeconomic area in which over half the population qualifies for free or reduced lunch. This is a rural community without any movie theater or shopping mall, so the students are very grateful for any entertainment. Many students rarely venture out of the county. The school contains many examples of student work. The students' test scores are improving. The classrooms all have SmartBoards, so students are exposed to some of the world outside of our community.

About my class
