School can become challenging and frustrating in general; but to many students in a low socioeconomic community, it may be more difficult. Sensory pathways help students develop motor skills, eye-hand coordination, spatial awareness, and emotional regulation skills. By providing the students with a sensory pathway during therapy sessions, and as they transition throughout their day, it allows them not only to build on their academics but also their self-regulation and focusing skills needed for success. The sensory pathway can be utilized in many ways for our students such as transitioning throughout the building, providing a sensory/movement/brain break, or a change in environment. These breaks are known to rewire the brain which affects the outcome potential of each student.
