The items I am asking for will serve in many areas of my classroom. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It will give my students a chance to build fine motor strength, social-emotional skills, problem-solving skills, and help close their academic gap. I am asking for Makedo Cardboard Construction so the children can create and build items while recycling the large amounts of cardboard the receives. The children will work together to plan and create smaller 3D pieces if work that we can showcase around the room. Once the children have an understanding of how Makedo works. I would like the class to try and build different house. The Big Bolt Construction is great for helping strengthen the students fine motor and building their language. It also lets them practice following directions, self control, and turn taking. Osmo Genius Kit for iPad gives the students a new way to learn numerals, counting, shapes, and patterns. The students can work more independently while still getting instant feedback. These items give my students a way to be creative while learning functional skills. They will be introduced to skills that can be applied to future careers. It gives them a positive learning experience that ignites their interest in learning. It also gives them opportunities to communicate with one another, use cooperative learning skills, use and apply new vocabulary words, and build up their confidence.
