Welcome to my teacher page! My name is Ms. Laprise and I teach group string lessons to students in grades 4-12 as well as conduct several orchestras at the middle school level. My schools are located in an urban city that encompasses students of all races, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Starting in the 4th grade, all students have the opportunity to play a band or orchestral instrument. The majority of our students come from backgrounds that do not afford the financial means to purchase their own instruments. Over the years our school system has acquired many of the instruments that our students play on, one of which gave me the opportunity to play the violin when I was a child. My hope is to give back to my students all of the positive advantages that this same program gave to me when I was their age.
