I teach in a first grade classroom with children who come in with a wide range of reading abilities and interests. My students live in a community where expectations are high, instruction is differentiated to meet student needs, and where being culturally diverse is celebrated. My first graders are enthusiastic, have shown a great interest in reading and demonstrate a willingness to rise to a challenge!
