Over half of my class consists of English Language Learners, whose primary language is Spanish. Many of my students currently need other adults in addition to myself to complete work, such as writing or reading. My other students lack basic math skills and reading comprehension strategies. This is due in part to the fact that they come from families with educational gaps. My students are always ready to learn and look forward to lessons that contain any amount of technology. There is nothing brighter than the smile of a child who is told they are able to do their work on an iPad. I cannot think of a more deserving, hardworking group of students to have this dream become a reality, than my students.
