My classroom is filled with a diverse group of second graders who are curious, energetic, and excited to learn about the world around them. Each year, I teach English Language Learners, students with disabilities, visual learners, and students who need extra support managing their emotions. My students also come from many different family and socioeconomic backgrounds. Some come from single-parent homes, some have families who are able to be very involved at school, while others have parents working hard just to provide their family's everyday needs. Because of this, not every child comes to school with the same experiences or opportunities. What they do all come with is a desire to learn. I want my classroom to be a place where every student has access to engaging resources that help them learn, explore, and see more of the world around them.
