My students hear on the first day of school that "Ms. McComas' number one goal is to create a comfortable learning environment" (along with a picture of a screaming goat to get their attention). We use this phrase as a mantra throughout the year to inspire each other to respect ourselves, our fellow humans, our surroundings, and our planet. We put a lot of love into our classroom environment; however, our bulky, mismatched desks get in our way! Comfortable, durable, and aesthetically pleasing tables and seating will allow my students to focus on what I REALLY want them to learn this year: You are worth the best, and we can achieve it! Tables and chairs to replace bulky desks will allow a new level of functionality in our classroom by facilitating group work and cooperative gameplay, teaching students to solve problems by working together. (Our classroom also hosts Middle School Game Club!)
