My students are hard working and resilient! Through all of the obstacles they face on a daily basis, my students come every morning ready to learn. My class started this year at an average of two grade levels behind in reading and math. I have several students receiving special education services, and most of my class are English Language Learners. Many come from single-parent homes and others don't have a home at all. I may not be able to control the environment they are coming from, but I can control the environment they walk into every morning. We work collectively to create and maintain a positive, welcoming, and safe space to learn. Our classroom is more than a community of learners, we truly are a family!
