My third graders are at a Title I school in Shelby County, TN. Most of them come from low-income households. The challenges my students often face don't stop them from being hard workers with many goals and passions. With emphasis on project-based learning and our focus on STEM, my students are exceptionally self-driven and motivated workers who take pride in their accomplishments and in overcoming obstacles to reach their goals. They are learning to inquire, to create their own paths toward discovery, and to collaborate effectively with peers.
