Read Aloud's are an everyday activity for our students during reading and writing workshop? Why can't it happen in math? Stories are an engaging way for students to learn and launch new ideas. They are also a fantastic way for our English Language Learners to see and hear words to help make connections as they work in math. There are fantastic books out there that have mathematical concepts within them, why can't we use them to help launch our math units. My goal is to use these books to create a math library for our teachers and students. These resources will help launch our mathematical concepts and give students the chance to see these concepts happening in concrete ways through the teachers read aloud's.
