I am fierce and fanatical about my students reading more and more every day. I have done a lot of research on and am currently reading the book Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi and it is absolutely spectacular, as it is revolutionary. It would be a game-changer to put a black-centered fantasy fiction novel in the hands of our students. At our school, we do everything it takes to make sure that these kids have the tools to succeed, and reading is absolutely vital to our goal to uplift future leaders. I want them to want to read on their own. I want them to feel empowered in their reading and writing. Please help us guide them by providing for our capable and eager young minds.
