My inspiration for this project began from the last class of first graders I taught. They could never sit still. When forced to sit in a chair all day the children got bored, restless, and inattentive. I experimented one day by having one of my worst movers stand at a table I had. He was able to move freely and worked efficiently the entire day. He grew excited knowing he was allowed to move, and his work improved. I am asking for donations to create a class with flexible seating and flexible tables. For this I need tables with adjustable legs, differentiated seating, and a carpet for the learners that like to work on the ground. I want to make my entire class this flexible so my students this year can tap into their greatest potential and flourish!
