I am a first-year art teacher on a cart. I want to give my students the ability to have new art experiences by exploring and creating using traditional and untraditional material. I want my students to have opportunities to use different materials. I want them to use materials to help scaffold there understandings using the elements of art. In asking for this cart, I will be able to make a "home" for all the materials I put in. I am allowing students to gain some more independence and ownership of their artmaking process. I am also asking for some material to help my special needs students feel more comfortable and get more engaged in my class.
