  • Learning On All Levels

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for your continued support. I cannot express how thankful I am to have you all, especially this school year. It is because of the super generous donations of my friends and community, that I am able to make it through this school year. Even now, over halfway through this year, most teachers are still working 10-12 hours days to try and stay afloat in this online, or hybrid learning model. I can't even imagine how much more I would be working without your help. Your donations have helped me to purchase engaging, tiered instructional materials for my class, that have supported us through all the standards. Thank you again for your continued support.”

  • Technology for Distance Learning

    Funded Jun 6, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. I cannot stress enough how important technology is during distance learning. The ability to put a computer into each student's hand this quarter really is important. With your donation, I was able to put another computer into a child's home so that they can access the learning and information that they deserve. This pandemic has so further widened the gap in education in our country, and I appreciate you helping in a any way you can to bridge that gap.”

  • Remote, but Not Removed

    Funded Aug 25, 2020

I can't thank you enough for your help during this crazy time. It's hard to believe we are already halfway through the first quarter of the school year as I am writing this. So far it has really been a success! Is it exhausting? Sure is! Am I spending 30+ hours a week on prep work? Definitely! But wow, I can't even imagine how much more time I would be spending, had it not been for the resources I have been able to purchase through your donations. I have purchased entire reading units, poetry lessons, graphic organizers, slide presentations, election lesson resources, and so much more! The best part is the kids ENJOY THEM! We have one of the top attendance records in the school so far this year, and that's been made possible by you. Thank you again, for being a great member of our classroom community.”

  • Everyday Supplies for an Extraordinary Class

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our classroom. We are now halfway through the school year, and we are doing great thanks to your help. Things like paper, erasers and pencils are important tools that usually come to mind when people think about classroom necessities, but what most people don't know that teachers often have to supply these tools for their students.

This is on top of things that many people don't think about like laminating sheets to laminate the handmade learning games that we create for our students to play during center time. These games are specifically catered toward what our students need to know and practice. We also need markers to create bright colorful handmade posters that students need to explain new concepts and refer back to while practicing every day in the classroom. These are some of the wonderful supplies that you have given us this year, and I can't thank you enough.”

  • Erase the Waste and Be Green!

    Funded Nov 25, 2018

Thank you so much for the dry erase markers and copy paper. I know it was a while ago, but these supplies have kept us going all year! I can't imagine how we would have made it this far (3 more weeks!) without your support. We use the markers and the paper all day long, every day. The paper is used to create worksheets, to write stories, send letters and field trip forms home, and to create our weekly reading logs. We use the markers to help us solve math problems (saves scrap paper!) and to play math games during our center time. Thanks for your continued support! We would not be nearly as successful without you.”

    With gratitude,

  • Math Skills, Not Drills

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. We have been using IXL now since the beginning of the school year. As of today, our class has mastered 250 skills, and spent a combined total of 126 hours practicing math and language arts skills. IXL is a great program because it allows for students to work on various levels, depending on their varied independent learning levels. The students love winning the awards the program offers them, and they love the independence of using the program to work on what they need to practice. Thank you for helping us be a successful classroom!”

  • Starting the School Year Shining!

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. We are already 1/4 through the school year! I can't imagine getting this far without your help. It would be quite hard to do our daily assignments without pencils, erasers and printer ink. The headphones are especially helpful. We are lucky enough to have 1:1 technology in our classroom, but headphones are not provided. At our level, it is necessary to be able to listen to the directions being read to us on our individual lessons on the computer. This wouldn't be possible without you! Thank you for all you've done for us.”

  • Independent Learning on Our Level

    Funded Nov 29, 2017

Thank you for your gracious generosity! My students and I thank you for your support. With your donation, we received eight wonderful language learning centers. My students love working independently with these activities. We use them daily. They especially like the beginning sound sorting. This is so helpful, especially for many of our struggling readers. We also use the timer throughout the day, and the students enjoy being the 'classroom timer' who is in charge of setting the timer. It's a very exciting job in our classroom. There are so many little things that's go into making a great classroom that students can enjoy coming to every day. Thanks to you, I've been able to give them even more fun activities to look forward to. Thanks again for being supportive of public education!”

  • Learning Everywhere and Every Way

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class. It's hard to believe that spring is here. We've been so busy learning that time has flown by so fast! Thanks to you, we have been so productive. It's hard to imagine a time before our nice new classroom rug. It is such an integral part of our day. There is plenty of room for students to have their own space to sit and listen to a story, to lounge relaxingly during independent reading time, or to play math games with a partner. It is very well loved! We spend a majority of our time there, and we are very lucky to have such a nice addition to our classroom. Classes for years to come will appreciate it also. Thank you again, I can't express how important this is to us.”

  • New Beginnings!

    Funded Sep 2, 2017

Wow! This year sure has been busy! My class and I would like to thank you again, because we would not be so busy if it hadn't been for you helping us get off to such a great start. When I look through the list of materials from this project, I see every single thing that we literally could not get through our day without. Coming to this new school this year was a lot of work. I had to set up a new classroom, adjust to new grade level standards and get to know so many new families and staff. But thanks to you, this process has been much more feasible.

The kids have been using the IXL computer program daily to practice math and language arts skills. This program is great because I can assign students individual work depending on their learning level. Everyone can brush up on the exact skills they need to focus on. And they ENJOY it!

The seat sacks have also been a life saver, I cannot even express to you how great these have been. Since we have shared table rather than traditional desks, the seat sacks give the students a place to store their books, journals and folders. (And the occasional rogue hello kitty lip gloss or pokemon card!)

The pencils and erasers are an obvious necessity, that we use daily, along with with crayons and glue sticks.

And let's not forget the RUG! Who knew that a rug was such a classroom necessity? Coming from a high grade, I didn't think about the rug so much, but we spend SO MUCH of our day here. It's where we hold the majority of our class time, and when we aren't sitting on it together for a lesson, students are lounging with a book during literacy centers time, or playing a math game during math centers time.

I cannot thank you enough, and I feel that words cannot express how important these supplies have been for our classroom. My class, (and classes for years to come in the case of the seat sacks!), are charging toward their learning goals this year thanks to you. Thank you for supporting public education!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. WALSH

Hi! My name is Lauren Walsh and I teach 5th grade at a public school on the west side of Chicago. My students are eager to learn and make personal connections with peers and teachers. I would like to provide that for my students as much as possible this year, even though we will be learning remotely. I want my students to have everything they need to continue to succeed, even from afar.
