I was hired three days before my students started school and walked into a classroom without a rug. In kindergarten, we meet on the floor for almost every lesson I teach. I feel as though the floor gets very dirty throughout the day and is going to become colder as winter approaches. This project will help my students feel comfortable in their learning environment. I feel bad every time I peek into other classrooms that look a lot more welcoming and cozy. I want my students to come into their classroom each day feeling like this is the best place they could be. There are so many resources I would love to provide for my students, but I feel the rug is the first improvement we need to create a comfortable environment.
