I teach in a building that has a high population of low income families. We live in a diverse area, and many of my students have trouble affording school supplies for the classroom. I am not the classroom teacher for my students, so they come to me a few times a day for specific curriculum areas that they excel in. For this reason, I do not have access to the supplies the students bring in for the beginning of the year (and some students cannot afford to bring any at all). I am always looking for new ways to raise money for basic supplies as well as supplies that would offer extensions on what we do in the Enrichment classroom. My students are absolutely wonderful kids to work with and they truly love a challenge! I just do my best to keep up!
