Learning that incorporates student choice provides a pathway for students to fully, genuinely invest themselves in quality work that matters. Giving students the opportunity to sit in bean bags, wobble seat cushions, and ball seats allow them the ability to move and fidget without being distracted. I will also allow the students with special needs to not feel like they are different from their peers for their seating accommodations but very much the same. Fair isn't everybody getting the same thing, fair is everyone getting what they need in order to be successful. Students who need to wobble or fidget while working will be able to sit with the wobbly seat cushions or bouncy seats to concentrate and complete their work. Students who prefer more of a lounge style seat to concentrate and focus on their work will have the opportunity to sit in the bean bag chairs in the library. Overall the flexible seating options will give the students in my classroom the tools they need to be successful.
