From 8:45 AM to 3:15 PM each day, my classroom is home to a group of energetic, curious, and loving three year olds who are enjoying their first year as students. They are growing and developing socially, emotionally, and academically each day as they learn to care for each other and themselves and as they build foundational math and literacy skills in our play-based environment. And on top of all of that, many of them are learning English for the first time! My school serves a diverse group of students, including many Spanish and Chinese speaking English language learners, in vibrant neighborhood in NW DC.
