This will be my first year in 1st grade, and the students could really benefit from a rug that will give them each their personal space as well as serve as a tool for learning their alphabet (many still won't know it). The massive amount of glue sticks will be important for our phonics program. Last year, the upper grades ran out of 100 glue sticks before the year was half over. That's how much glue they needed! By that time, I wasn't able to effectively use the phonics program. In addition, they can always use more pencils and erasers. It seems like students eat those supplies!
