The online subscriptions in this project will be an invaluable resource to my students as they work in school and remotely from home. It is my goal to motivate my students to explore areas of the curriculum and communicate orally and in writing to express opinions and develop reading comprehension skills. These subscriptions are created by Scholastic and provide an age-appropriate, meaningful resource for my students to gain skills while connecting to the text. Storyworks includes stories inclusive of fiction, non-fiction, drama, poetry, and text pairing that will delight, intrigue and excite my students. Scholastic News will provide current events and general knowledge that will extend the world for my students while showing the importance of becoming informed, active citizens in our diverse world. Science Spin will introduce my students to a new world of science and engineering. Many of my students struggle with reading and the English language and can become frustrated easily with text. These resources will enable me to work with each child on his or her level while providing interesting and exciting information and stories to motivate them and help them to see how interesting the world of reading can be. These subscriptions provide video slideshows, and subject videos to support all of my learners whether learning at home or school. By donating to my project, you will be helping my ENL students to improve reading skills while instilling a love of learning and an excitement to participate and communicate ideas with others.
