We have access to a school wide computer lab, but we need to sign up to use it. It is often booked by the upper grades, being utilized for mandated testing, or only available 1 day a week for 30 minutes. Chromebooks will allow my students to surf the web and bring the World Wide Web to those who do not have the opportunity to utilize it outside of school. These Chromebooks will allow students to interact with math, literacy, and science online components that we have not been able to utilize for the past few years. These components will build upon skills, enrich daily lessons, reinforce, and strengthen weak areas in the curriculum. We do several enrichment activities where the students need to research, write about a topic, and complete an extension project. These projects can sometimes take months to work on if we don't have access to the computer lab. By helping me to fund these Chromebooks you are giving my students a chance to be researchers and creators that will only enhance their learning.
