Welcome to our K–2 Cluster Special Education classroom! I have the privilege of teaching a wonderful group of young learners with a wide range of abilities, learning styles, communication needs, and developmental needs. In our classroom, learning may look different for every child. Some students communicate verbally, while others benefit from visual supports and alternative ways to communicate. Some students are working on early academic skills, while others are developing independence, social-emotional skills, communication, fine-motor skills, and everyday routines. Because of these diverse needs, our classroom is designed to provide structured, hands-on, engaging, and individualized learning experiences. We use visual schedules, adapted activities, manipulatives, sensory supports, technology, small-group instruction, and repeated practice to help every student participate successfully. My goal is to create a classroom where every child feels safe, included, supported, and excited to learn. We celebrate progress in all its forms because even a small step can represent a huge accomplishment for one of our students.
