Safe and Collaborative First Grade Work Space
Funded Jun 15, 2023Thank you so much for helping my classroom utilize its space, and create safe collaborative learning spaces for all of my students. The tables you helped me purchase for my classroom are used everyday by my students and have allowed students to cultivate stronger relationships with each other! Additionally they've given students the opportunity to build leadership and sharing skills. Students rotate as table captains and get the chance to demonstrate care, collaboration, and responsibility by taking care of their classmates and the classroom materials they share.
By getting tables I'm able to maintain space for students to learn during rug time as well as center time. The tables made our classroom safer and more conducive to learning in an exciting school year! They added an extra layer of excitement to the transition from Kindergarten to First Grade and make our grade level special!
Again, thank you so much for your generosity and efforts. You've truly helped make my classroom a better place.”

Reaching Readers While Out of School
Funded Apr 2, 2020Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me get books into the hands and homes of my first graders in the spring. In continuing to keep up with many of my beloved students and families through video chats and phone calls, they continue to share how much they've loved getting to have that set of books to keep at home.
As we've continued to remain out of the school physically, these books have been essential in allowing students to continue to develop their print awareness - an essential building block for growing readers. And as I've begun to teach a new set of students it is abundantly clear how critical getting physical books into the hands of students is. I'm so deeply grateful that my students from last year were able to get this with the help of donors like you.
As I incorporated the books that we all had together into my instruction last year, student engagement and excitement about reading continued to build. While this challenging time progresses I remain so thankful that in such na unpredictable period my students were able to find joy and comfort in the books you helped them to get. And for that I thank you, thank you, thank you.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Kelling
