My scholars Rock and work with what they have. We are an inner city school in a very high poverty area of Philadelphia. This does not bring my students down, in fact they fight to be above. The class I have this year has to be the hardest workers yet. Last year Philadelphia School District closed 27 schools. Our school was one of the schools on the list. Thanks to the hard work of our scholars and their parents we remained open. Unfortunately, the school down the street from us did close and those students were transferred to ours. We welcomed the students with open arms but they did not increase the staff, or the supplies to accommodate them. We have managed to work with what we have and my students have been working hard to adjust. I am very proud of them.
