In low income areas, it's not uncommon for a student's first story time experience to happen here in the classroom. While we imagine that all children get the opportunity for a bedtime story or a theatrical reading of a childhood classic, in some demographics this just isn't a reality. Help me create a Listening Center where children can choose to spend their free time engaging in learning experiences between the covers of some of the best loved children's books in history. My students learn to LOVE a great story, right here in the classroom! Many of my students don't have a literature-rich home life, but my goal is to make their first school experience one that will foster a lifelong love for a good book. Nothing can stop a Reader.
