My students need to be moving. Kiddos with disabilities often have a hard time sitting all day in those hard chairs. The wobble chairs will allow my students to move in their own space. I try to focus on my students' abilities and not their disabilities. These students work hard all day long! Giving them these chairs will give them permission to move around and still focus on the assignment at hand. The other materials I am asking for will benefit my students. I have asked for pencil grips to teach better hand placement when writing. When the handwriting gets better, my students will be able to reread what they have written and go back and edit their own work. The colored pencils are for our more visual learners. My students often read a story and then draw pictures of the characters, or the setting or even a different ending. It is a good way to bring a different modality into their reading.
