Hooray for 3rd and 4th graders. When they walk into class, they are always curious as to what exciting activities I have planned for them. They are always looking to be engaged and being able to use all types of material/manipulative to be more knowledgeable with their skills. It allows them to have fun as they learn! So many of the students struggle in math because of their reading levels so my planning has to be a lot of hands-on projects and different small group center activities for the students to grasp more of an understanding. Because majority of my students come from low-income households and are unfortunately STILL recovering from Hurricane Harvey, they are unable to get to many resources which are available to them. We make sure that in our classroom we strive harder than ever to get as much of a clear understanding and prepare ourselves to take the STAAR test in May. We have something to prove to ALL!
