Our band program is attempting to recruit more students. These students will have an opportunity to learn to read and play a musical instrument. Learning a percussion instrument is a great start to include students who might not normally play an instrument as well as recruit students who might not be athletic or academically inclined. Having the percussion instruments will help build a sound percussion section for our entire band as well as build a drumline that will help promote the spirit of the band as well as the school. It is imperative to secure a minimum of three snare drums, two tenors, three to four bass drums and two sets of cymbals. The students would be able to rotate as they learn and eventually we will be able to build the program to secure more percussion instruments. These same students will be able to perform with the concert band as well as a separate entity of the band.
