These materials have been selected based on the impact they will have on student engagement as well as their lasting impact on student learning. Many add a sensory component to instruction that will help my students make and maintain learning connections throughout the year. My 1st grade scholars deserve to come to school and get lost in the magic of learning through high quality academic instruction made engaging with the use of hands on materials. The materials I have selected will help my budding readers during small group instruction that is specifically designed to fill the gaps that Covid has left behind. Although scholars everywhere have suffered a huge loss of learning due to the impact of Covid-19, the community surrounding Mitchell Boulevard has seen a particularly large percentage of our students directly affected by it. As a result, our scholars have leaps and bounds they need to make in order to get back on track, and stay on track for success. These leaps and bounds will be made possible with the addition of these resources to our daily instruction.
