During Read Across America Week, my Gifted and Talented students will showcase the marvels of each individual book by creating a live wax museum of these stories in order to promote and excite younger students about the joys of reading! Additionally, these stories will be put to good use throughout the school year as STEAM activities will be conducted in class based off of the books. It is my hope that students can take home some of their favorite books, as they are raffled away, and relish in the adventures that these books will take them on. Each book has been hand-chosen because of its dual ability to serve as a reading adventure and provide a STEAM experience in the classroom to over 400 students who just adore reading and conducting experiments! My young readers, unfortunately, do not have the means to supply themselves with the minimalist of resources. Being able to combine literacy and STEAM, however, is like having two worlds collide in the most enchanting and life-changing way for my students. Your support is all we need to create a little of this life-changing magic!
