It's almost that special time for teachers where they start to think about their classrooms for the upcoming school year. 2020-2021 will be my first official year teaching, and I will be teaching in a grade I have fallen in love with through my internship hours and as a substitute! I have actually been an educator for over 12 years, but this is the first time where I will begin the year in my own classroom. Previously, my classroom experience consisted of early childhood classrooms, internship hours and substitute assignments. This upcoming school year, I will actually be starting the year in my own classroom, with my own students and my own space. I want to make our classroom as welcome and safe as possible. Through research, I have discovered the many benefits of flexible seating and one of the goals of this project is to give my students flexible seating options. Throughout the years, I have learned different classroom management strategies from many amazing, experienced teachers. One thing I would like to incorporate into my classroom routine is a wireless doorbell. I also know the importance of hands-on experiences. For example, classroom rotations are a must during math instruction. One of my groups only uses hands-on experiences. This means that all the manipulatives acquired through this project will be continously used in these centers. I am literally starting from scratch and hope to build a classroom that can best meet the needs of my students and make the best use of the small room that we will share. Unfortunately, I can't spend much of my own money on my classroom and appreciate any help. I just hope to provide the best learning environment for my students.
