The use of technology has become synonymous with 21st century learning. Our students live in a world that their literacy must encompass the various medias that surround them. My goal is to provide them with immediate access to online books that they can read, as well as a more digital classroom, where they will have an opportunity to engage in our ELA curriculum online. They will then read, write and take tests right on their tablets, making the learning experience much more interactive, and engaging for them. Technology is a constant in our learning here at our school, but there is never enough for everyone. Our floor shares the technology available for student use, so we are always competing with schedules, and getting to the sign out sheet on time. With a class set of tablets my students will always be able to use them for their reading and classwork, and will alleviate the stress of having to compete for them. I truly believe that the acquisition of these tablets will enhance the students' learning and prepare them for college and beyond in a much larger capacity than they would otherwise.
