The students and March Mountain HS are "as-risk" and have at some point in their high school journey become credit deficient. Many are low-income and face a myriad of issues ranging from teen pregnancy, gang violence, and family/domestic situations. While attending MMHS, students take up to 6 classes daily and must maintain their grades and regular attendance goals in order to remain. They are a minimum of 16 years old and in need of credit completion. While several students are enrolled for just a short time and then transfer back to a "home" high school; most remain through the conclusion of high school and graduate. In fact, out of approximately 200 seniors last year, 152 graduated in June. The remaining students either graduated later that summer or were given additional time to finish their credits this year. The focus of the students is graduation; however, they are expected to maintain the exact same rigor as any other school and state standards.
