My students are avid learners, and all the more so when they feel that the material covered in class is applicable to real life. In our Biology class we learn about health and fitness and CPR. I would like my students to not simply read about it, I would like to give them the opportunity to actually learn the skill. CPR is a topic that my students are particularly interested in; they are curious, engaged, and ready to learn. Although getting certified to teach them CPR is easy, getting manikins for them to practice with is not. Getting these manikins would make all the difference to them as we cover this unit. CPR manikins would allow them to learn not only the knowledge behind the cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but also the life-saving technique to enable them to use it. Should they ever need it, this knowledge may literally save a life.
